Guardtech supporting critical manufacturing equipment segregation with localised Isopod cleanroom enclosures

Rapid-build cleanroom pods providing effective segregation and higher-classified environments around sensitive production equipment for a wide range of engineering and Life Science applications
GUARDTECH are helping manufacturers introduce targeted contamination control with their specialist Isopod Equipment Enclosures – rapid-build cleanroom pods designed around machinery, production equipment and critical processes.
The enclosures allow organisations to create a locally controlled environment without upgrading an entire factory, laboratory or production hall. By positioning HEPA-filtered airflow directly over equipment, an Isopod can provide a cleaner, higher ISO-classified zone than the surrounding host environment, subject to the completed system being appropriately designed, commissioned and validated.
This approach is particularly effective for processes such as plastic extrusion, injection moulding, precision manufacturing, electronics assembly and component inspection, where airborne contamination could compromise product quality, but a conventional full-room cleanroom may be unnecessary.
Isopod Cleanroom Consultant Jordan Lucas, who covers the South of the UK, said: “Equipment enclosures are all about putting the contamination control exactly where the client needs it. If one extrusion line or piece of machinery requires a cleaner environment, it often makes more sense to protect that process directly than to convert a whole production area.
“We can develop the enclosure around the machine’s footprint, operating height, access points and maintenance requirements, so the cleanroom supports the process rather than restricting it.”
Built using Guardtech’s established modular Isopod platform, the enclosures can incorporate stainless-steel frameworks, softwall PVC strip curtains, HEPA Fan Filter Units (FFUs), GT Lux LED lighting and dedicated operator work zones. Machinery openings, utility penetrations, monitoring systems, Guardware furniture and storage solutions can also be integrated around individual operational requirements.
The physical enclosure provides effective segregation between the protected process and surrounding activities. This helps prevent contaminants generated by personnel, neighbouring equipment, packaging or general factory operations from entering the critical production zone.
Isopod Cleanroom Consultant Steve Bawa, who operates across the North of the UK and globally, added: “The ability to achieve a higher cleanliness level around an individual machine can deliver a major quality improvement without the cost or disruption associated with constructing a much larger cleanroom.
“These pods are also flexible. They can be installed around existing machinery, adapted when production layouts change and extended if additional equipment is introduced. That makes them ideal for pilot manufacturing, new product launches and growing production lines.”
Guardtech support projects from initial consultation and layout development through manufacture, installation, commissioning and validation. Ongoing servicing, environmental monitoring and particle-counting equipment can also be provided, creating a complete contamination-control package.
Whether protecting a single extrusion machine or several connected production processes, Isopod Equipment Enclosures deliver fast, flexible and cost-effective segregation precisely where cleaner conditions matter most today.
